The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.
~Johann Sebastian Bach

I don't suppose it's cheating to actually use two photos today? I don't think it would be fair otherwise.

Violin recital. Sophia's very first solo recital and she did AMAZINGLY well. Seriously. Many people came up to us to tell us how impressed they were with her impeccable rhythm and her absolute focus as she played. We were proud parents.

Bria did very well, too. But she was playing a difficult concerto--one that was quite difficult for the pianist, too--and the piano really threw her off of her game. Though she still played incredibly well for an 11-year old, she knew it wasn't her best and there were some tears. Particularly difficult for her, because she usually plays better under pressure than in practice. Oh well. We know what to work on, and we are all quite glad to lay that particular concerto to rest, truth be told.

Onward and upward!
