To banish imperfection is to destroy expression, to check exertion, to paralyze vitality.
~John Ruskin

I had high hopes of doing really cute valentines for my kids to hand out this year. But I never quite got it together, other than a vague idea in the back of my mind and a few purchases.

In the end, I let go of my idea of perfectly cute valentines, and let them do all of the assembling and most of the creative work. They still turned out really cute, and they did all the work.

This is so much better for several reasons--reasons which I am well aware of and would do well to always remember.

These two little girls were very proud of their valentines, and that's better than any perfection around.
