Try to cook so that it will surprise a little, agreeably and astonish slightly, without shocking.
~Jean Marie Amat

Tonight all of the men and boys from our church went on a Fathers and Sons campout. So, naturally, I invited all of the women and girls to my house to hang out. We had a lovely evening together talking and eating.

After they all left, I grabbed a handful of chips from this bag, and got a bunch of dried rose petals instead. That was a little surprising!

Two lessons learned: 1) Throw away your flowers when they start to wilt, not when they are so dead they are dropping dried petals, and 2) If you must keep your flowers, at least don't put your potato chips underneath them.
